Event Recap - Leadership Luncheon Series

On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, Superintendent Van Ayres, from Hillsborough County Public Schools addressed our crowd of more than 70 attendees at our Leadership Luncheon Series. Van was incredibly passionate and energized to educate everyone about the benefits and reasoning behind the millage rate on the ballot in November.

Van explained that voters in 25 of Florida’s 67 counties have approved a millage referendum to provide additional funding to pay their teachers and support staff more. Hillsborough County is the only county in the 6-county area that does not have an additional millage. Propeller Club members asked a variety of great questions about the benefits and salary impacts for teachers. In all, members and guests walked away more educated on the subject.
